Mark Friedman – Sound Design

MARK FRIEDMAN Sound Design

  Originally from New York City, Mark is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music with a BA in music. He started his career in sound at David Wolper Productions, working on the first, award winning National Geographic special. Mark then became a recording engineer/music editor at the legendary Gold Star studios and continued his career, for the next decade, with Columbia Records. In the fall of 1978 Mark moved into video, multi-media, and radio production as head of the sound studios at The Media Staff. Since 1990 Mark has worked in the documentary world with Moriah films and has played a major role in every production they have done, including sound design for the Academy Award winning The Long Way Home. In 2007, Mark won a ‘Telly’ award for his sound design on a project for Los Angeles County DPSS. He has also done sound design for many exhibits in the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. Recent productions include It Is No Dream, The Prime Ministers, and Our Boys for Moriah and his directorial debut with My Mother’s Voice and Journey to Cordoba (in progress), two independent productions.
